Forge · Emergency Session File
Improvised TTRPG session generator — zero-prep, last-minute Game Master prep in under an hour.
A zero-prep session generator and campaign doctor for Game Masters — brief in a setting, a tension, and a deadline, and the dossier returns an event hook, three ready-to-run session arcs, the connective tissue between them, an NPC brief, environment notes, and a debrief with a cliffhanger for next time.
What the dossier delivers
- Event hookThe inciting incident the session opens on — a courier who never arrived, a witness who won’t talk past the second bell, a door that should not have been unlocked. One line the table can chase.
- Three session arcsThree ready-to-run session arcs stacked from short to long — each one a complete line of play the GM can run tonight without further prep. Pick one, run it, or let the table pick which to follow.
- Connective tissueThe bridges between arcs so the three stay coherent — the NPC, place, and beat tying them together, so the table never feels the seam. The campaign runs as one session, not three in a trench coat.
- NPC briefThe named NPC the arcs orbit — a sentence of motivation, a tell, and one thing they want badly enough to betray someone for. Enough for the table to improvise around; nothing more.
- Environment notesThe setup the arcs need to read at the table — light, weather, sound, the odd object on the wrong shelf. A paragraph the GM can read aloud and a sentence the players’ senses will hold.
- Debrief + cliffhangerHow the session ends — the consequence the table left on the world, and the cliffhanger that pulls them back next time. The session writes its own next session.

STRATUM I · EVENT HOOK
STRATUM II · SESSION ARC I
- The witness — recovered from a taproom at ; speaks only in the third person about a sealed brief she never carried.
- The route — along the cliff road past ; the courier’s satchel washed up in the marsh, the seal unbroken.
- The buyer — a charter house in the city, three floors above a tavern nobody visits; the brief is already on their table.
STRATUM III · DEBRIEF
The witness disappears before the second bell. The satchel is empty. The charter house door is unlocked, the third-floor room is dark, and a fresh seal — identical to the courier’s — . Whatever the brief was, it has begun talking to the wrong people.
